Hi all,

ASA Service module is installed in Cisco Cat. 6509 in slot 1. We are getting following error,

Jun 25 08:00:39.386 UTC: %CONST_DIAG-SP-4-ERROR_COUNTER_WARNING: Module 1 Error counter exceeds threshold, system operation continue.
Jun 25 08:00:39.386 UTC: %CONST_DIAG-SP-4-ERROR_COUNTER_DATA: ID:97 IN:0 PO:0 RE:4128 RM:3 DV:6 EG:2 CF:10 TF:9363

Please guide with troubleshooting steps.

Thanks and regards,

Onkar

Re-seat the line card:  Pull the line card out.  Count to three, push the line card back in and make sure it's securely fastened.

IMPORTANT:  Observe the chassis' logs for the entire boot-up process of the linecard (and subsequent errors appearing).

If problem re-occurs, run an online diagnostics:  diagnostic start module 1 test all

Post the result.

Hi Leo,

Thanks for reply. May I know what tests are run or during which test a problem occurs and this counter exceeds threshold?

The messages CONST_DIAG-SP-4-ERROR_COUNTER_DATA: are caused by the TestErrorCounterMonitor Health Monitoring test that is running in the background. This test monitors the errors and interrupts that occur on each module in the system by periodically polling for the error counters maintained in the module.

Regards,

Onkar
