Hi,

Without knowing what version of nxos you are running, please see the following data sheet regarding new support optics supported in Nxos release 6.0 for the 7k, You will see that this includes the glc-sx-mm:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/switches/ps9441/ps9402/prodcut_bulletin_c25-688075.html

Unfortunately there is no reference for supported Nxos release for the same optic within the 5500 series, see attached data sheet, although the earliest support release is 5.0.3 for the 55k, what version are you running?

Hi

I've since looked back through the release notes and have found that the earliest supported release for the glc-sx-mm SFP is 5.0.3N1(1):

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/switches/datacenter/nexus5000/sw/release/notes/Rel_5_1_3_N1_1/Nexus5000_Release_Notes_5_1_3_N1.html#wp383223

Hi,

We are using 1000Base-SX SFP in N7K with release 6.0.2,

But, we can't use 1000Base-SX in 5596UP with release 5.0(3)N2(2b)

1000Base-SX writes are supported on the web page you suggested. However, in accordance with the following configuration does not work.

sh run int eth1/29

interface Ethernet1/29

  switchport access vlan 645

  speed 1000

  duplex full

sh int status | inc 1/29

Hi,

Have you tried another SFP or different fibre uplink? The transceiver is certainly recognised and passes the validation, the nx-os appears to be supported, so it possible that this a different physical issue. What are you connecting or uplinking to?

Regards
Allan.

I've tried eight different gbic

SFP is working on N7K, but on the core switch, the customer do not want to link to.

However, the end connected to customer switch. I will check again tomorrow customer side.

In addition, the test will N7K connectivity on the uplink.

Thank you very much for your interest.

i've tried on N7K. It's working on N7K with same gbic and fiber link.

But, it's not working on N5K.

I will open a case for this problem..

Did you solve this issue?
I have same problem. Is SFP 1Gbase-CISCO-FINISAR is compatible with  Nexus 5600?
