Data Centre Interconnect/HA/DR - Network Design Options
Our company is planning to impliment a disaster recovery centre to provide protecton and high availability to a our applications and data whis is being accessed by around 700 users from 65 MPLS sites and VPN sites across UK
Our corrent DC is build with following 100 mb sitches.
1* 3750 - Connects to MPLS router VLANS and to the ASA FW which is linked to the server farm switches
2* ASA5510/HA - sites in between 3750 mpls switch and the server farm switches
2* 3560/HSRP - Server Farm Switches - All the servers connect to these switches
2* ASA FWs - Internet FW - Sits in between
Please have a look at our given current DC network diagram. We want to eliminate all the single point of failures and high availability.
We are planning to extend the the DC1 VLANS to the DR site using a Layer 2 Metro point-to point link from Virgin. Please can you all suggest modifications to the network diagram to accomodate the DR site with Layer 2 extension for High availability. Can you also suggest the latest Cisco devices to upgrade the DCs
