Hi ,
We have two nexus switches working as the core of our network , we are facing a high temperature on both of them on the N7K-M224XP-23L module slot 3 . Eventhough we have the same module on slot 6 & 7 but we dont have this warning on them , the only different is that we are using the module on slot 3 for fiber connectivity but we are not using the modules on slot 6 & 7 for any thing yet .The cooling is fine in the data center and only this type of module on this slot is having a high temperature warnings . Please did any one face this problem before ?

I would not take temperature within your data centre as the only measure.
It depends on what other switches and devices are next to your Nexus racks and how the air flow works.
Air flow on the N7K9s are side-to-side:
The same guide also makes recommendations as to how the switches should be mounted within the rack in order to allow for sufficient clearance.
I have seen a data centre where there were a number of N7Ks in the same row. So in effect hot air was being blown out of one switch and being sucked into the next.

Moahmmed,
Kindly check if there is any airblocking the module which is seeing high temperature issue.....
We have seen that airflow getting block to specific module i nthe data center the way they have been placed or someone just put somthing in front of it whic avoid the airflow.

I forgot to post also that we have changed these modules with new ones but still the problem is appearing on slot 3 !!

I agree with your recommendations but the strange thing is why it is happening only on slot3 and it is not showing on the rest of the slots !! If you see for example the temperature in slot 4 it seems fine

Actually our nexus switches are mounted in server racks which means that the switch side and the server side are very close and according to cisco recommendations i think we need to keep some space in this area . Do you agree with me ?

There you go. Yes totally agree with you.

Have a look at the Cisco power calculator for the N7K at http://tools.cisco.com/cpc/
You will find that the N7K-M224XP-23L generates twice the heat and consumes twice the power of the N7K-M148GT-11L.
This will help to explain why this blade is so hot in comparison to the others.
