Problem with NEXUS 5020 hardware version after RMA

After RMA replacement of NEXUS 5020 box

"show module" indicates HW version 1.2. On the box we had originally purchased HW version was 1.3

Also "show sprom backplane" indicates VID: V03 instead of VID: 04 we originally had on the box.

Does anyone know what might be a problem?

Good Morning,

You don't need to worry about the HW version 1.2 , my N5Ks in my lab are HW version 1.0 and the VID:02 and they are working very well in all types of topologies with stress tests. Are you having any issues with the RMA'ed N5K(new one with HW version 1.3)? Or your concern is just not having the latest HW version.

For now we don't have any issue with older HW version 1.2.

I'm just wondering is it possible to upgrade it to HW version 1.3 and how?

Hi Vesna,

The only option to upgrade/change the HW version is to ask for the latest N5Ks from the manufacturing which you can only do for the "Dead on Arrival" devices. I am sure your new N5K will work just fine, we don't have any field notices for the N5Ks with HW 1.2.
