Question about setting MTU for Jumbo Frames

I have a Nexus 5010 switch. I use it to test 10Gb NIC's. I need to use jumbo frames to properly test the NIC's.

I have tried the following configuration:

Nexus5010(config)# policy-map type network-qos jumbo
Nexus5010(config-pmap-nq)# class type network-qos class-default
Nexus5010(config-pmap-c-nq)# mtu 9216
Nexus5010(config-pmap-c-nq)# exit
Nexus5010(config-pmap-nq)# exit
Nexus5010(config)# system qos
Nexus5010(config-sys-qos)# service-policy type network-qos jumbo

Nexus5010(config)# system jumbomtu 9216

However, when I display an interface the MTU still shows an MTU of 1500.

Nexus5010# sh int e1/17
Ethernet1/17 is up
  Hardware: 10000 Ethernet, address: 0005.9b76.3018 (bia 0005.9b76.3018)
MTU 1500 bytes, BW 10000000 Kbit, DLY 10 usec,
     reliability 255/255, txload 1/255, rxload 1/255

I need to know if I am missing something.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Question about setting MTU for Jumbo Frames

You are not missing anything. Disregard the show interface display for the MTU, this is a cosmetic defect that will be addressed in a future release.

Re: Question about setting MTU for Jumbo Frames

I came into work this morning and tried running the jumbo frames.

Checking the packets with a protocol analyzer, I verified that the jumbo frames were being passed.

Thank you for your assistance.

Thanks Laura.

I created a video covering how to configure / check and remove jumbo :
