SANITY CHECK: Moving Interfaces Between VDCs

Hi forum,

Got temporary VDC2 on my 7K, it has served its purpose and I want to reallocate interfaces back to the VDC1, and finally delete VDC2

VDC1

  allocate interface Ethernet8/1-20

VDC2

 allocate interface Ethernet8/21-24

Move the interfaces:

VDC1

 allocate interface Ethernet8/21-24

OR encompassing all interfaces:

VDC1

  allocate interface Ethernet8/1-24

I am concerned the allocate interface command might be "all encompassing/ taken literally" - somewhat like forgetting the ADD command in a "switchport trunk allowed vlan add" and resulting in assigning only the relevant elements listed and not appending.

OK I just ran this change by

OK I just ran this change by moving some ports decommed VDCs, controlled etc. and then executed the change for real, deleted the old VDC.

In my instance I experienced no loss of service - just for those of you out there like who like to know it's not a problem, not guess.
