Spanning 2 DC with my own fibre and 4510s using HSRP and active site gateways

Hi, I have 2 DC about 10 blocks apart that are connected to each other using our own fibre into one 4510 at each site (10 gig). The second datacenter does not house any of our servers yet. I'm looking at the feasibility of spanning our cluster and thus spanning our L2 Network. I've been reading this document :

The concepts seem to be a bit overkill for my smallish infrastructure.  The Big thing I'm trying to conceptualize is the Server to Client communication. I want to have an active default gw and each site, same vIP same vMAC.

I will have a dedicated LACP link to avoid STP issues.

Can I just create an HSRP group on each 4510 and then block the HSRP broadcasts on my LACP interfaces? Does someone have an example of how to do this?

Am I on the right track?
