reload and enter a break during the first 60 seconds of the boot. The trick is to figure out what the break is on your emulator. try escape and ctrl/break.

Using the break is the best way to get into rommon mode, but some OS such as win nt 4.0 had some problems (bug) with issuing break with hyperterminal.
Another way to get in is to set the config-register setting to 0x2100. and reload the router. Router will boot now only in rommon mode, until u change the register setting.
Router(config)#config-register 0x2100
Reload the router.
Router(config)#reload
After doing what you want in Rommon mode, change the setting of register back as follows
rommon1>o/r 0x2102
rommon1>i ..............(>initialize IOS....)
This will change the config-register setting back to normal and boot the IOS.
