What exactly is a query when it comes to routing protocols ? I thought once its learnt where a route is it doesnt need to know anything else ?

On a switch, Do all the mac addresses get learnt by the switch in the mac addres table for the uplink ports to other switches, so it knows what clients are on the other end of the port ?
