Monitoring Inter-VLAN traffic?

Is it possible to monitor inter-VLAN traffic (IP octets coming in and out between VLANs) on Cat3550 switches?

I have a customer that wants to provide services for his customers(one per VLAN), and he has to charge by inter-VLAN traffic usage (from/to internal VLANs to Internet). He cannot monitor by interface, because sometimes the customers have more than one port per VLAN or there is a trunk with more than one customer to another switch.

He's trying to use a Cisco Enterprise OID, but the graphic that Cricket (MRTG) generates is not working well. When issuing the "show interface VLAN X" the counters don't increment as "expected" (I read about fast switching and that those counters are indeed not very accurate).

Regards,

Carlos.

Have you tried using SwitchProbe? It has VLAN Monitoring, which gives bandwidth utilization and get hosts and conversation information on a per-VLAN basis. Take a look at the documentation given in the link below for details.
