The error bad file magic number indicates that the image in flash is either corrupt, incomplete or not an IOS image. You can upload a new image file via xmodem or via tftpdnld. Here are two links explaining how to use those commands.
TFTPDNLD Upload: http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/471/76.html
XMODEM Upload: http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/130/xmodem_generic.html

my router boots from ios (if ios in flash)but should boot to boothelper image in eprom: if ios is not there but it boots to rommon if ios is not there because boothelper (subset of ios) image is currupt.
