1720 ethernet port damage

We had some recent power damage as a result of a major storm. One of our routers, a 1720, appears to now have a damaged ethernet port. We get no link light or activity when connected to our switch. We have replaced patch cables, changed switches, etc. The WIC1T card in the same 1720 appears to be working fine. Every indication leads us to believe the 1720's ethernet port is shot. How can we confirm this, other than the obvious visual references? If it is shot can it be repaired or are we forced to get a new unit as I suspect is the case?

Re: 1720 ethernet port damage

Do you have console access to the router ?

If so, do a show int on the port, make sure its not in shutdown.

if you have a smart net contract, contact the TAC.

Don't know of field repairs, probably going to have to get new

Re: 1720 ethernet port damage

If you consoled into the router. Issue "show interface", your ethernet interface should show "down/down". You may call our tac 800-553-2447 for the replacement if this router is under warranty.
