I am setting up a small network of pc's. I want to share the internet with all of the workstations via a cable modem. I have a 1720 router with a t1 wic card in it. Will it work with the current hardware config or will I need to get additional hardware?

Thanks in advance

I think it is very unlikely that your cable modem has a T1 interface. Do you have any details on it? If not, what type of physical connection does it have?

I think you'll need something with two ethernet interfaces. If you have limited IP Addresses, you may need to do something like NAT, in which case the Cisco way to go is a PIX 506. If you're OK with the number of IP Addresses the service provider will give, then probably just a hub/switch attached to the cable modem is the way to go.

Is this for home use, small branch, etc? What's the application here?
