We are running a T1 line connection between our office and co-location with CSU/DSU 1720 Cisco routers at both ends.
I received a new router and despite the fact that I copied the existing configuration from one production router using a TFTP server and a show interface command shows serial interface up, line up, I can not communicate with the router at the other end.
What model was the new router, Is the IOS same on both the routers ? Some commands, might not work if you r using earlier version of IOS on the router you replaced. Did you double check the configs on the old and new routers ?
