1721 and wic 1enet cards

I am having trouble installing two wic 1enet cards in a 1721. s/w is running c1700-y-mz.122-4.ya2.bin. Wic0 or e0 runs fine but wic1 e1 is up but the line protocol is down.

Although i have a cable in plugged into the 10bt port i am also getting the following

%PQUICC_ETHER-1-LOSTCARR: Unit 0, lost carrier. Transceiver problem?

Which according to the info only suggests that the cable is disconnected which it isnt. Is this a s/w issue where this particular version only allows wic e0.

hopefully someone will know the answer as I really need to role out this tri ethernet configuration as soon as possible.

Many Thanks in advance.

Marcus...

Many Thanks,

Re: 1721 and wic 1enet cards

Hi Marcus, I'm using a new 1721 router with two WIC cards also. I'm not experiencing any problems. If your P.C. is directly connected to the router you must use a crossover cable. Make sure the p.c.'s NIC cards are set to 10Mbps full duplex or auto detect and router WIC's( WIC's ar only 10 Mbps cards)are set to full duplex. hope this helps.
