Hi, I've got a very weird problem with my 1721 router (16M Flash, 32M RAM.WIC-1Enet, WIC-2T,enable NAT for Internet(go through WIC-1Enet)): It will automatically restart every 10 minutes. Here is what I've got through the console port(before it restarting). My Cisco Agency tech-support told me that this it because the RAM of my router is too small, the NAT translation needs more RAM. But when I use "show mem" to see my RAM, I still have lots of free space. The problem is caused by lack of free RAM, is it true? Thanks!
ERROR Message (what I've got through console port):

This could be true , you are getting malloc errors , this could be because of a lack of memory. It could also be the box has a memory leak , this happens when the box has a process that is using memory , when that process is finished it should release and free up the memory , however it does not release it , eventually the router runs out of memory.

This is a software bug . You can see this by the ' You can try upgrading or downgrading your code to see if it corrects the problem .

Deilert, thank you very much for your reply. If I only upgrade the RAM, will it resolve my problem (if I do not upgrade IOS)?

hard to say , I would do which ever is easier for you first . If that fixes the problem then disregard the other . If it does not fix your problem then upgrade or replace RAM

Thanks! I'll try.

sachin@infotecindia.com, thanks for your reply. I can assure that there is no virus because I have already applied these access-list before and I also have NAV Corporate Edition in my network.
