1721 Router with Leased line and failover ISDT link (128k)

Hi,

I am installing a 1721 Modular router with a BT Megastream 2Mbps link as my main pipe, but also a ISDT connection as my failover. I am using a WIC-1T with X.21presentation for connection to the Megastream and another WIC-1T for the ISDT. What I need to know is how I can provide fault tolerance from the ISDT line, whilst not causing a spanning-tree loop. Any ideas? Thanks....

Hi!

Maybe i' had missed smth, but span-tree loops can occur only in LAN environment (CSMA/CD), in PtP Wan links you can use either routing protocols or back-up interface possibilities.

Thanks for that, no you haven't misunderstood, I think it was me. Please expand though on the possibilities. Thanks
