1721's and a T1

I have a T1 between remote sites that have two separate networks at each end of the T1. We do not want to co-mingle the networks for security reasons and have been suggested to use the 1721's.

A vendor gave us a quote for 1721's,WIC-1DSU-T1's,WIC-1ENET's. Additionally we need 128-bit AES serurity between these sites.

Can someone tell me if these are the correct componet parts or is there a better solution. I am not ,as you can tell very familar with the Cisco products.

Thanks!

Hello,

the 1721 routers are a good choice, the components quoted by your vendor are correct. Just make sure that you have at least IOS version 12.2(11)YU running, and any of the following feature packs (for the 128-bit AES support):

ADVANCED ENTERPRISE SERVICES

ADVANCED IP SERVICES

ADVANCED SECURITY

IP/ADSL/FW/IDS PLUS IPSEC 3DES

IP/ADSL/IPX/AT/IBM/FW/IDS PLUS IPSEC 3DES

ENTERPRISE SERVICES

Regards,

Georg
