1721 with WIC-4ESW Help

Hello, I have setup some pretty simple WAN links on 2600's before, but what I need to do with a 1721 is much different and I need some help. Here is what I want to do..

Setup a 1721 with 2 WIC-4ESW's so up to 8 nodes can have access to ethernet provided via the built-in FastEthernet port. Then be able to firewall each port separately (some will be web and some will be mail servers).

From what I know, I assume the way to phrase this properly is that I want to use the built-in 10/100 as a bridge to each port, correct? I don't need a full config example so much (but it would be nice) as I want to be pointed in a direction towards docs about what I am doing, be it bridging or something else.

Also, I would like to utilize the IOS IDS features, any advice here is also appreciated.

Thanks!

Re: 1721 with WIC-4ESW Help

Please note that only ONE WIC-4ESW is supported on Cisco 1700 series routers at present. Refer this link for this information.

For your situation go for DMZ with Cisco IOS firewall. Please go through the following links how to configure DMZ and IDS with Cisco IOS firewall.
