I am trying to purchase a 1900 switch for CCNA exam preparation and noticed that some models have Enterprise software. What additional functionality does the Enterprise software bring to the table? Do I need the Enterprise software for the exam objectives? And if so, is there a way to upgrade a non-Enterprise 1900 switch to Enterprise level that is cheap?
Thanks

Enterprise actually gives a command line function versus a menu for non ent. .
Enterprise has added functions such as tacacs capability etc.... I do not believe you can update a non ent. version to enterprise software.

Any 1900 switch can be upgraded to the enterprise edition software without any problems. The enterprise edition software also supports switch management over the web and can be configured as a cluster member.
