Please can we present a IGB link line as a RJ45 so that we can put it on a Cat 6509 with a 1000BaseSX Ethernet WS-X6416-GE-MT slot.? Or what should it be presented as for it to be linked into one of this ports.?

The interface is called MT-RJ. Its smaller than a RJ45 and has two fibers in one plug. You need to order patch cables with MT-RJ on one end (for the 6509) and what connector is on your fiber patch panel for the other end. Dont forget that if you are connecting two switches directly that the cable must be ordered as a crossover because both fibers are in one plug so you cannot reverse them.

Thanks

What I actually have is a 1GB fibre WAN Link and a Cat 6509 that has 16x1GB MTRJ. I am trying to tell the WAN company what to bring the presentation in as.

The aim is to connect the 1 GB link straight up to the Cat6509 instead of going through a router. SO what is the most functional presentation to bring the IGB Link fiber.?

Thanks

If they are not handing you dark fiber but providing a 1gb service then it sounds like you just say 1000BaseSX . If they terminate it on a patch panel you get a patch cable that accomodates whatever plug they give you on their end and MTRJ on your end. If they hand you a cable end to plug into the switch, tell them MTRJ.
