2 Phy T1 link For Internet Connection

I have a new connection which is using 2xT1 ATM Connection. The major application is Voice over IP.

Should i use Multilink PPP and related QoS scheme MLPPP LFI for this connection or should i rely on Static route for both link and base on Cisco Switching path e.g Fast Switcthing or CEF ?

Re: 2 Phy T1 link For Internet Connection

There are 2 issues here:

1. LFI

You want to use MLPPP over ATM for LFI if the remote ends are frame relay (where you can use MLPPP over FR). If the remote ends are T1 or higher, then no need for LFI for VoIP packets.

2. Are the 2 T1s bundled together using IMA or just 2 separate ATM T1s?? If its IMA then no need to worry abt the routing, if its not IMA, then need to make sure your load balancing is setup right. Make sure it is per destination, using per packet could cause VOIP packets to arrive out of order on the link.
