Are you using windows DHCP server? You can use helper-addresses on the routers ethernet/VLAN interfaces to forward DHCP requests across subnets/VLANs

Re: 2 VLAN use 1 DHCP server???

We are using 1 NT based DHCP server for 3 seperate VLAN's, in lieu of using helper addresses, (which works just as well) we had enough available slots on the server to plug in 3 NIC's with connections to our 5509 for each VLAN.

Hi Thbinh

Yes you can use it by using ip helper-addres on ethrnet/VLAN interface. But you have to put it in perticupar VLAN except from VLAN 1.If it is in vlan 1 then sometimes creates problem. So put in one of the VLAN and and configure helper adress.

IP helper-address *.*.*.*, where *.*.*.* is the IP address of your DHCP server.

Also, the DHCP server cannot be on an IP address that is configured as a secondary on a VLAN.
