2500 Router Continuously Reboots

My 2500 router boots up with the following message and continuously reboots to the same message:

System Bootstrap, Version 11.0(10c)XB2, PLATFORM SPECIFIC RELEASE

SOFTWARE (fc1)

Copyright (c) 1986-1998 by cisco Systems

2500 processor with 14336 Kbytes of main memory

On the 2500 this happens when it cannot read it's IOS from flash. Typical old-age problems!

For a start you could open the router and try to re-seat the flash. This often cures the problem.

It could also be that the router has a bad image or that the flash got corrupted but re-seating the flash does little harm (if you are smart enough to use a wrist strap). Anyway; no cure, no pay! Good luck with the operation.
