2500 serial port compared to 2600

I have a customer with a 2600 router that was going up and down. They replaced the router with a 2500 and it worked. They put a new 2600 and it still went up and down. I had them invert the transmit clock and that worked. They are wanting to know why. Does any one know if the serial interfaces should work different or not.

Please use the command

Router(config-if)#invert txclock on the WIC-2T

Serial links operating at higher speeds with devices that do not support SCTE need to use this command.
