how much flash ? If you have 16 meg, then
partition flash 2 8 8
the "side" with the ios in it remains read only,
the other side will be read write.
what do your boot statements say ?

Hi Prasanth,
Flash memory provides write protection against accidental erasing or reprogramming.
Some platforms have a write-protect jumper which can be removed to prevent reprogramming of Flash memory. You must install the jumper when programming is required.
Some platforms have write protect switched on Flash memory cards that you can use to protect data. You must set the switch to unprotected to write data to the Flash memory card.
Refer to your hardware documentation for information on security jumpers and write protect switches.
Good Luck,
Javed

It seems that there is no file in the flash, so even though the specified register entry is correct, the router will not load from the flash.
Try using the following syntax from the ROM Monitor. IF it works it will help you load a copy of flash. I assume that you do have a back-up or a copy of flash that is compatible with this router. Just type the following commands on the left with a value as described on the right.
IP_ADDRESS= ip address of the router
IP_SUBNET_MASK= SUBNET MASK OF THE NETWORK
DEFAULT_GATEWAY= IP ADDRESS OF THE DEFAULT GATEWAY
TFTP_SERVER= IP ADDRESS OF THE TFTP SERVER
TFTP_FILE= TFTP FILE NAME
THEN type tftpdnld, and the above information will be executed.
I hope it was helpful.
Thanks,
Amit Sonik
