2509 to 500-CS Async Connection Problem

We are currently using an ASM-CS comm server with 16 Async lines to connect to several 500-CS comm servers and 2509 access servers. The connections are via AT&T/Lucent secure data 1910 modems (STU-III) over leased/dedicated POTS lines. The network is isolated.

We are trying to replace the ASM-CS with two 2509 access servers. I am successful connecting 2509 to 2509, but am unable to connect 2509 to 500-CS.

Config (minus unused ints) for the source 2509 is:

I've searched the forums for 500-CS and connection problems, and have tried several different config commands, but still no connection from 2509 to 500CS.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Try to use software flow control. And also try to use "transport input telnet" command.

Thanks for the suggestion. I gave both a try, but to no avail.

I have been successful connecting between the 2509 and 500CS. Seems one of the phone networks we use was the culprit.

From within the 2509 console I am able to ping in/out the async port to/from the 500CS, and in/out the ethernet port to/from a computer on the LAN.

However I am still unable to ping all the way through from Ethernet LAN computer to remote 500 CS via the async port.

Thanks again for the help.
