We got 2 2514 routers back from one of our School districts that they had cleaned (erased the config)
Now when I try to add a config file everything goes fine, write mem seems to do its thing, everything looks great until you reboot it, it comes back up empty. I have never run into this before, it happens on both routers, Not sure what they did but I cannot even upgrade the IOS, because it loads the IOS then reboots and everything is gone.

Give a show version and see at the end, what the configuration register settings are. Check to see if its set to 0x2142. It needs to be changed back to 0x2102.
Router#Config t
Router(config)#config-register 0x2102
Router(config)#exit
Router#reload
