2600 RAS

I have a spare 2600 router that has the DSU/CSU built in. I would like to turn this into a RAS. I would like to have a T1 connected to the DSU/CSU and have 10 modems coming off the 2600.

Is this possable?

Does the 2600 have a asynchronous WIC?

Can you break up the T1 line into channels on the router?

Thanks for your help

Greg

The 2600 does not support internal digital modem (MICA) that would be required for terminating analog calls comming in through a T1/PRI.

We can use internal analog modems (NM-AM) with POTS lines for the 2600 to act as a RAS.....NM-8AM / NM-16AM.

WIC-2A/S can be used on the 2600.

Thanks, Mak.

Mark,

What would you suggest then for a RAS?

Right now we have a T1 connection going into a Adtran 600 and it is getting split up there. There is 10 channels (all of them come from our 800 number and are on a "hunt group" ) that go into a 2500 series router through a V.35 cable.

We are losing connectivity speed because of the A/D conversion on the T1 lines.

Thanks again,

Greg

The 36xx platform with NM-1CT1-CSU with NM-12DM match your requirements of a RAS.

Thanks, Mak.
