I tried to upgrade my 2610 IOS from 11.3 to 12. After I successfully xfered the IOS via Xmodem, I did a reload. Now the router boots with some gibberish. I cant send a break command to it. What should I do?
Were you running your console port at something other than 9600 bps before the upgrade (I usually change mine to 115 kbps for IOS download or you will be there a long time)? 9600 is the default. Check your terminal emulator.
Have you ever sent it break before? Perhaps you need to upgrade your Hyperterminal to the Private edition. If you have sent it a break before, then check your baud rate. Also check the memory requirements of the new IOS.
This is actually a pretty cool feature, i didn't even know it existed until I was looking for a solution to advertise a subnet (prefix in BGP talk), only if a certain condition existed. This is exactly what conditional advertisements does
