2611 and cable modem

Greetings,

I am trying to setup a 2611 as my gateway to the net. I have a static ip from my isp. I have the router configured so far with just the basic information, the ip address and routing protocal. Problem is, i can ping all the way up to my exeternal interface on the router from the inside network, but can seem to ping any outside address. (this happends even when i use ping from the router itself). Do i have to config. the router to point to my isp's dns servers? or would i just have to configure nat? i am trying to set up static nat but to no avail, can anyone give me a step by step example on how to set up nat? this is my first time doing this and i can't seem to find much information besides just an overview. thank you. - Gabe

Re: 2611 and cable modem

Here is the link which discuss "configuring cisco router behind non-cisco cable modem"..It also disucc NAT and act as a DHCP server for the inside LAN users/PC's..

http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/109/router_behind_cm_19268.shtml

Its a same config for 804 as well as 2611..Thx..Tejal
