Hi Guys,

I have a switch WS-C2924C-XL with IOS (tm) C2900XL Software (C2900XL-H-M), Version 11.2(8)SA4, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1) and some questions :

1- When I try to telnet, I received the following message :

"Password is requered, but none set"

I can access the switch via http, How can I set this password ?

2- Yesterday my network almost stop, the access for all machines to the network gone very slow, after I booted the switch everythings gone be OK, how can I do a diagnoses for this switch ?

You will need to get into config and enter a password for the VTY lines

other wise telnet will never work without it.

router(config)# line vty 0 4

router (config-if) # password xxxxxxx enter

xxxxxxxx = password

Do not forget to write mem so command stays otherwise upon

next reload you will have to do these commands again......

line vty 0 4

password yourpassword
