Is it possible to use the Gigabit uplink ports to connect a server?
If yes, can you recommend a gigabit nic the best works between server and switch.

Gigabit uplink port can be connected to a server. You can check for Gigabit NIC in intel, and numerous vendors are available.

Our company uses COMPAQ nics primarily. I have not seen any issues with these nics...
