2948G-L2 Error

Hello,

I need to recover a 2948G L2 switch. It is in a loop with this message:

WS-C2948G bootrom version 5.4(1), built on 2000.04.04 10:48:54

H/W Revisions: Fin: 2 Head: 6 Board: 1

Supervisor MAC addresses: 00:05:01:2e:c8:00 through 00:05:01:2e:cb:ff (1024 addresses

Installed memory: 64 MB

Assertion failed.

I can?t enter into a rommon mode in order to set up a tftp server IP address.

Please help me to solve this.

Hi Patricio,

Try breaking in to ROMMON using the procedures documented here:

If that does not work, then you are running into a hardware failure and your best bet is to open a TAC Service Request to get the switch replaced.
