I am looking for a switch to be used as access switch. But am pondering which to use either the 48 port 2950 or 3350 series. I am building an enterprise network and am using 6509 as the distribution switch to link up with the core switches. In each Lan room there are at least 12 - 15 access switches and i am using Gigastack. Please help.

The 3550 provides layer 3 capabilities while the 2950 does not. If you do all your routing on your 6500/MSFC, 2950 should be good enough. Documents for reference
