2950 ports

My ports are only coming up at 10M. This machine should also detect 100M. Why?

Re: 2950 ports

Hello,

which devices do you have connected to the 2950 ports ? There is a document that describes NIC interoperability problems, you might want to check this:

Re: 2950 ports

If you are using handmade cables, this usually indicates poor termination and / or improper pair-order (usually a split pair on pins 3&6).

Try commercial cables, try new cables (beat up cables are also candidates for poor performance).

Good Luck

Re: 2950 ports

If you have the 2950 as "auto" then your client nic cards are only set for 10/half . Auto can always sense the speed correctly but cannot sense the duplex unless the client end is also at auto .
