2950 switch doesn't create vlans

Hi all,

I am trying to create a Vlan in the 2950 and the same this with problems. Look

#int vlan 1512

Unable to create interface.

^

% Invalid input detected at '^' marker.

And a see this msg in log:

Oct 17 19:48:25: %INTERFACE_API-1-NOMORESWIDB: No more SWIDB can be allocated, maximum allowed 71

-Traceback= 80197234 80197760 80308A20 801C48DC 8015A784 8015C4A4 8016B8FC 801D0CAC 801D0C98

Someone has some idea of what it can be that ?

thanks,

Fábio Santos

You aren't creating a vlan , you are trying to create a layer 3 SVI which I don't think you can do on an extended vlan . To create a vlan , just do "conf t " enter. Then just type vlan 1512 ,enter . this will create the vlan and verify by doing a "show vlan" .

Fabio

Is this switch running the standard image or the enhanced image? I am guessing that it is running the standard image in which case it recognizes VLANs only in the range 1-1005. So the int vlan 1512 would be invalid on a switch running standard image.
