2950G Switches and Loopbacks

What we want to do:

Acccess-Layer 2950:

Interface Lo0 ip addy 10.1.1.1 255.255.255.255

Assign all of the Fa0/x ports into VLAN 101

Assign the G0/1 port into VLAN 101

Assign the G0/2 port as a Stack port

Questions:

1. Since you cannot assign the Lo0 port into a VLAN, are there reachability issues for pinging the device Lo0 interface?

2. Should I also assign the G0/2 ports into the same VLAN to ensure all stack switches are on the same VLAN? (I am thinking yes, but want feedback)

Re: 2950G Switches and Loopbacks

Why do you want to have a loopback address on this switch? If you are looking for management interface, you can configure interface VLAN 101 and assign it an IP address

Yes if you just have one VLAN assign gig0/2 to VLAN 101
