Hi

When i try to configure the gigabit interfaces, at the promt:

switch(config)#interface ?

Does not show any Gig interface. the system have sys and RPS Led amber.

Note: the sytem was working fine.

Please help.

It looks like a faulty switch to me. In the show version output the bit after the 'Processor Board ID' should list the interfaces on the switch. I have a 3750 and it looks like this:

Processor board ID CAT090XXXXX

Last reset from power-on

3 Virtual Ethernet interfaces

48 FastEthernet interfaces

4 Gigabit Ethernet interfaces

The password-recovery mechanism is enabled.

I also have a 3550 and the output is slightly different but it still lists the ports under that section.

Raise a call with Cisco and get it replaced.

Hi,

as a last try erase all config, config-register 0x2102 and reload.

In any case it reports a faulty fan. So I would also guess that the switch needs to be replaced.
