3524 with no. of vlans

Can i setup say 4 vlans on 3524 and assign 6utp ports to each port.Because when i try to setup vlans,im able to setup but cannot bring them up.Pls clarify.

Theoretically, 35xx support 256VLANs.

What VTP mode you are using? Please use server mode in your 3524. Or you can setup the VLAN at your VTP server switch. Let it tell the VTP client (your 3524)Please make sure your VLAN is active. Then, you can assign the port to the VLAN.

I think you are referring to the Vlan interface not coming up. The vlan interface is used only for management.

You need to use vlan database command to create and use vlan.
