3550-48 Stackable and Cluster etherchannel

I am stacking 4 - 3550-48 switches together and I would like to run a 2-gig uplink to our core. Does the 3550 allow etherchannel between 2 of the 3550's and the core.

Example - Port gig 0/1 on switch on, and Port gig0/1 on switch 2. Etherchannel these two together back to the core. Is this possible?

Etherchannel is an aggregation of physical ports within the same chassis. You cannot channel across multiple chassis. What you propose is not supported.

This should be possible with 3750s (http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/cc/pd/si/casi/ps5023/prodlit/stkws_wp.pdf) but not with 3550s.
