I'm fighting a hard battle trying to convince some people why is better to use 3550-48 versus 2948G. They have standards and say 2948G is recognized within their standard but the 3550 is not.
I have launched my cavalry against 2948G saying it doesn't run IOS and it doesn't support QoS in utp L2 ports. Besides it is more expensive.
But I really need more arguments.
Can anybody point me in a good direction?

Some other important features I would consider are
*Layer 3 routing capabilities with EMI image
*Support for policing
*Stacking capabilities for easier management
*IOS for 3550 will support lot more new features in future versions
