3550+EMI: routed port traffic not passed by switched port on same 3550?
[this has got to be a FAQ - sorry] A 3550 running EMI is configured with a combination of routed ports and switched ports. A L3 device is plugged into the routed port. Routed traffic flows fine. When the routed port and the L3 device are instead plugged into the switched ports of the *same 3550* the traffic doesn't flow. If a different 3550 is used for the switched ports traffic flows fine as you would expect. What could possibly prevent the switched ports from doing their job? The MAC tables all looked fine. I tried using a seperate vlan for the switched ports. Is it just impossible to connect a routed port to a switched port on the same switch?
We have 3 identical switches configured by someone else and would like to claim some of the Gigabit ports(G1/G2/G3/G4) for use on servers. When we try to change the wiring and configuration, we run in to connectivity issues. Attached is a des...
This is actually a pretty cool feature, i didn't even know it existed until I was looking for a solution to advertise a subnet (prefix in BGP talk), only if a certain condition existed. This is exactly what conditional advertisements does
