3550 etherchannel

'show int fast 0/4 trunk' reveals N-ISL in the encapsulation column. What does this mean, and what type of etherchannel function am I running as????

"N-ISL" means that the two sides of the trunk negotiated isl as the trunk encapsulation. Here is a url with helpful information on different trunking modes:
