802.3af compliance cannot be claimed due to the current status of the proposed standard (draft form)
and litigation involving an alleged patent violation for the power disconnect portion of this
standard. Full 802.3af compliance is dependent on the outcome of this litigation.
Cisco is currently doing an assessment to determine if 802.3af compliance can be offered on the Cat 3550 via a software upgrade. No definite date has been announced.
