A customer of mine has a requirement to authenticate a caller via ACS by CLID.
They have an ISDN30 terminating on a 3640 router. The router is authenitcating via ACS . The configuration on ACS seems straightforward using NAR. How does the 3640 get the CLID info to ACS? is this done transparently via TACACS or is there extra configuration required on the 3640 to enable this? There is currently no reference to CLID in the 3640 config.
There seems nothing more to it. We have a system that is largely identical to yours: dual 3640 with PRI and Cisco ACS v2.6
We do not use CLID at the moment but I configered CLID for one account and dialed in. The connection was refused. Then I found out that our PABX is between the public phone system and our routers. The CLID info is not passed on so the router gets an empty string (I suppose)
Then I turned it around and I specified a denied number instead of a permitted one (the toggle on top of the field) Using this I managed to get a connection straightaway.
I realize that this is not the full solution but still I hope it helps a bit.
