3640 hardware/software problem

Aug 6, 2003, 7:05pm PST

I have a 3640 fastethernet problem, the interface always appeared to be disabled, when I enter 'no shutdown' at the interface configuration mode, it can not work. Below is some of the command display result I entered. Hope someone can help me to resolve this problem.

Re: 3640 hardware/software problem

'show version' output doesn't show the FE interface,

================================================================================

...

8 Serial network interface(s)

8 Low-speed serial(sync/async) network interface(s)

...

================================================================================

'show diag' output shows that the FE module is disabled.

The module might not be inserted properly. You can try re-seating the network module.

However, you need to power down the router.

Re: 3640 hardware/software problem

Dear ARIEL CESAR MANOSCA:

Thank you for your help, as you described I re-seated the network module. The problem is now solved!

Thanks again for your help!
