We have a 3660 with a digital modem module hooked up to a 30 line (e1) isdn pipe. The router handles both incoming isdn and analogue connections for our remote workers. We've found however that almost always the first time you attempt to dialin from a remote location no connection will be established (no modem trainup is heard nor engaged tone or similar). This happens with a variety of modems - both internal and external and of differing makes.
Cancelling then re-dialing results in a successful connection. We've upgraded the mica firmware to the latest version but still no luck. I believe the output below is of one such failed call. It shows the disconnect cause as a software reset.
Does anyone have any suggestions for places to look in curing this problem or has anyone encountered similar problems before?
Modem 2/4 Mica: Event Log contains 18 Events:
00:06:16.608 CSM: Incoming call from 01278446645 to Unknown
00:06:16.608 CSM: event-ISDN_CALL New State-IC_MODEM_RESERVED
Can you send "sh diag"? I'm suspecting CSCdp58461. You can also check "show modem operational-status" and "show modem csm s/p" and "sh modem" (you may see BAD modems"). If all this matches, please open a case with the TAC and mention CSCdp58461.
