3745 and IRB

Hi all.

We have a 3745 router which is configured with IRB.

My issue is that trying to reach a host on a subnet connected to BVI2,for example, from a host connected to BVI3 it doesn't work.

To make it working, I have to ping both hosts from the router....

ES.

Host A 10.10.10.2 gw 10.10.10.1

Host B 172.20.0.2 gw 172.20.0.1

!

!

interface Fastethernet0/1.2

encapsulation dot1Q 2

bridge-group 2

!

interface Fastethernet0/1.3

encapsulation dot1Q 3

bridge-group 3

!

interface BVI2

ip address 10.10.10.1 255.255.255.0

....

....

!

interface BVI3

ip address 172.20.0.1 255.255.255.0

!

!

bridge irb

bridge 2 protocol ieee

bridge 2 route ip

bridge 3 protocol ieee

bridge 3 route ip

And also the router doesn't the arp entry of the hosts since I don't ping them from the router...

Any Idea?

Thank you

Howdy,

Can you do a 'debug arp' on router and see what happens when you try to send traffic from one subnet to another ?
